EARLOBE REPAIR

Service description

One of the most common types of procedures for the ear is the earlobe repair. This is a procedure to repair holes created from earrings which have torn, either from the weight of earrings, or traumatic events. It also can repair the large holes in earlobes created by “gauges.” Usually, closing “gauged” ears may require either a onestage or two-stage procedure, depending on the severity of the defect created.
THE PROCEDURE
The procedure is generally performed by cutting a small notch on the torn lobe, then meticulously stitching the lobe back together. Those patients wanting to re-pierce the lobe can do so after six weeks.
